Escaping the concrete, John’s compositions push traditional visual bounds. Influenced by historic pop artists, his inspiration is freed from anything that comes to him. Using oil, latex, and acrylic paints to orchestrate compositions that are sensibly relatable to viewers.
“I feel like I’m winging it a little bit. It’s nice to own your project, doing exactly what you’re doing and feeling perfectly comfortable. That’s what I’m always doing, comparing myself to other artists and comparing myself to everyone around me. It’s nice to block everything out and focus on what you want to do.”
