Artist Interview - Michael Halliday
“If you want to be a painter, then all you have to do is paint. I try to keep that in mind with my painting, I try not to overthink it.”
Studio #229 on the 2nd floor of 400
The work of Halliday is about exploring instincts, pushing the boundaries of the common by allowing the medium to take hold, and recognizing the creative force. This leads to a more dynamic and visually-sensual composition with each favorable stroke that reaches the canvas. The work truly lives and breathes on its own.
“Art is about people putting their energy, their sensibility into what they’re doing and that’s something that I think will always be important.”
